question on generating simulated data
« on: November 27, 2013, 08:29:33 PM »
In Conquest command reference, under the "generate" and simulate" command options, it is explained that is possible to import an external file as to assign specifi item difficulty parameters to the item used to generate the simulated response data. However, it is not explained how to distinguish in the file between items assigned to multiple dimensions. Are items assigned according to the order they are  in the file?
Example, by using the following code:
generate !nitems=10:10, npersons=1000, maxscat=1, itemdist=ITEM_DIST_MULTI.dat, abilitydist=MVNORMAL(0:1:0:1:0.90)

Are the first 10 item parameters listed in the import file assigned to the first dimension and the following 10 to the second one? Is this the way it works?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, that is correct.
