Re-reunning new analysis with initial values
« on: September 16, 2012, 06:45:26 AM »
After running a multidimensional analysis with five dimensions, ConQuest advise to to carry out a new analysis with initial values. What does it mean? why I should carry out a new analysis using this values (I wonder these are imported using Import command( and how  the estimation improves?

Thanks

Luis

It means the parameters may not be well estimated.  Try again with more nodes.  Yes the import command is used to start of the estimation with your current estimates.

Thanks for answer!!:

Well, I made four times, importing and exporting the initial parameters of last analysis, unfortunately the message still persists in each new analysis... however item estimations, Deviances and all indicators did not change form one analysis to other... Should I continue?

Thanks

sounds to me like the results are stable and you can use them.  Have you exported historyu file and plotted trajectories for the parameter estimates and deviances?  I find that helps me with confidence in the parameter estimates.
